Alan's personal story:

Alan always wanted to use his skills to help others. He was pleased when he was offerred a job at Torcan in Aurora, developing processes for medications. He began taking Yoga and embraced the Yoga lifestyle through vegetarian diet, regular meditation and contributing to his community. He became a teacher and founder of Character Matters! and the York Region
Character Community  , and a certified Yoga teacher with his own practise.

Alan's practise:

Alan keeps up his personal practise of Yoga at home. He rises early to complete his breathing exercises (Pranayama), cleansing exercises (Kriyas) and Meditation. He cycles to and from work to maintain a high level of cardiovascular fitness as well as to be environmentally conscientious. In the evening, Alan practices his physical postures to maintain flexibility, strength, balance, and co-ordination. He reads Yoga books, eats a Yogic diet which consists of 2/3 alkaline-forming foods and 1/3 acid-forming foods, and which does not involve the killing of any animals. He maintains a healthy relationship with his wife, child, friends, neighbours, colleagues and students. Alan is level-headed, relaxed and good-natured. His soothing and thoughtful manner is a benefit in Yoga classes where many students are seeking a teacher who will be informative and focused on the class.
